Paul Wicka was born April 10, 1836 in Pomerania, Poland.  When and how he came to Wisconsin; I don’t know that yet. Paul died May 22, 1912 at the age of 76.  Paul married Mary Bambenek and they had 13 children.  Both Paul and Mary are buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery Pine Creek, Wisconsin Trempealeau County.

Mary Bambenek was born in Pomerania, Poland on March 11, 1852; she died on January 28, 1934 at the age of 83.  She’s the daughter of Martin Bambenek born in Poland on September 28, 1821 died October 13, 1878.  Her mother was Mary Magdeline Stotlman born on June 17, 1826 died on April 9, 1883.  She and Martin were married on February 14, 1848 in Lesno, Poland.  They are buried in St. Mary’s cemetery in Winona, MN.  Martin was a merchant.  I read somewhere that he was a saloon owner.  Photo and info from Cynthia Sobotta
